•With the jar of wine in both
hands, Caliban stood outside the circles, but Socrates
noticed him almost immediately. He gestured toward the slave and in an
overloud voice said, “There is my borrowed slave. Come
Caliban, fill my cup and lubricate my speech.”
•Caliban stepped through
the circle and filled the proffered cup.
•“Now, here is a man
doubly cursed and doubly blessed,” he still pointed at
Caliban.
•“How
is that, Socrates?” someone took the challenge.
