Research:

Although I wrote this novel on a whim, it was well researched.  I know I told you not to follow fads in writing and to not write vampire novels--I wrote one.  The reason was inspiration.  I was inspired with an idea that was unique to the whole vampire thing.  I took a classical vampire and redeemed her.  This novel is a redemption theme for a vampire.  The vampire isn't the protagonist, but rather the protagonist's helper.  Still, this is a very fun an entertaining novel.

The Question:

Valeska asks a unique question:  how can a vampire be redeemed?

The Characters:

The major characters in Valeska  are George Mardling, the agent (protagonist), Valeska/Heidi, the vampire (protagonist's helper), Leila, an agent and a goddess (a protagonist's helper and the love interest in the novel, Scaith, an undead (Leila's sidekick), Mahon, a Celtic god (the antagonist).

The Theme:

The theme is relatively simple: an agent of the organization meets a vampire girl who becomes dependent on him and is redeemed.

Teaser:

When you step into an old building, what scenes from the past might that building show you?  What words would it want you to know?

I don't have many notes to share on Valeska.  I wrote it relatively quickly and on a whim.  It is a very fun novel.  I'm not sure my publisher will pick it up, but I hope so.  In any case, it is exciting and entertaining--those are the most important characteristics.
